Wild Capital delivers outreach sessions for nursery, reception and key stages 1 and 2. The sessions are based around the local environment and it’s natural history. Activities are curriculum linked to science. We work with your school and teachers to design a programme that is just right. Sessions can be either in the form of a field trip or classroom based outreach. A session can be tailored to last between an hour and half a day, depending on your requirements. For multi-form intake schools; we can visit up to 3 classes in one day. We can also deliver a short session for your school assembly.
- Field trip session: The class meets with a Wild Capital leader in a green space local to the school. Activities can include bug hunting, bird bingo and plant sketching and identification.
- Classroom workshop session: Our classroom sessions include an interactive presentation and follow up activities which are very hands on, such as creating a seed ball or insect home. Classroom sessions also include viewing a variety of natural history artifacts such as skulls, feathers and antlers.
- Half and half session: If your school has some outdoor space, we can deliver a session including one activity outdoors on your premises.
- Full day: A full day programme can include half a day outdoors and half a day of classroom activities, building on what was discovered outside.
Sessions are delivered by Brenna Boyle, who is a DBS checked environmental teacher with over 10 years experience in education. Please contact us for further details and a price quote.
